As Americans 'views on the labor market and economic prospects deterioratevideopokerforpcU.S. consumer confidence fell to its lowest level since mid-2022 in April.
Data released by the Conference Board on Tuesday showed that the consumer confidence index was revised to 103 from March.videopokerforpc.1 fell to 97, the third consecutive month of decline, which was worse than expectations of all economists surveyed.
A measure of expectations for the next six months fell to 66videopokerforpc.4, also hitting the lowest level since July 2022. A measure of the current situation fell to 142.9.
Dana Peterson, chief economist at the Conference Board, said in a statement,"Consumers 'views on current labor conditions have become less positive,videopokerforpcThey are more worried about future business conditions, employment and income prospects."
Peterson said that while inflation expectations remain stable, rising food and gasoline prices are the main concerns for consumers.
